I unpacked the 4 pack tonight and put one of these in the my Coleman (Johnson Controls) gas furnace. Examined it briefly, it looks to be as well made. I used to buy the 3M Filtrete next to top of the line filters. I remember the Filtrete’s costing at least $12.99 apiece. I did an analysis and looked at comparative reviews of various brands of furnace filters – both on Amazon and Home Depot’s websites. I found that I can get these cheaper off Amazon Prime than purchasing a comparable filtration level filter from my local Home Depot or Lowes. The True Blue’s cost $36.00 for 16 months of clean filtered heating airflow (assuming you follow their change filter every 120 days suggestion). Another way to look at is: these cost $27.00 a year, and really – in the Northwest where I come from — who runs their furnace in July, August and the 1st half of September? You might even get more mileage if your local climate allows you to write off Summer as a time of usage. Yet another way you can look at it is, if you have allergies or a lot of cat hair, dust, etc, you can afford to be unusually fastidious.
