   Manufacturing tolerances were allowed to be to large. A tight fit is usually good, but these are to large to fit by 1/4 to one 1/2 inch

   These filters IMO are better for your AC unit. Before the pleated variety this was the only option. They work great and my light bill is much cheaper bc I’m not using the more restrictive pleated ones. Also, my AC will probably last longer bc it’s not working so hard anymore. My house gets much cooler now.
