FYI: you want your filters to fit very snuggly, no gaps, so debris can’t be sucked in around it.These are great filters although I really wanted the next step up (2800) or the best one available, these really do more than enough! NOT ALL FILTERS ARE CREATED EQUAL! My husband can’t believe I pay so much for filters when he says he can get a filter for a dollar – well you get what you pay for! The cheap filters only last one month if that – these last three months and filter so much more from the air in your home. The cheap filters only prevent dust from getting in your air return, but in my opinion they don’t even do that well, but these high quality filters filter out 14 to 19+ air debris from your home! If you have pets, allergies, young, sick or elderly occupants, or just want to make your HV/AC not work as hard and therefore lower your electric bill or make sure the air your family is breathing inside your home is vastly better, cleaner and safer – spend the money on a better 3M Filtrate filter, that you won’t have to change but every three months!

I just purchased these filters on Amazon because I cannot find our odd size in local stores. I ordered the 6-pack described. However, I received only 2 in the pack of 6 that was advertised. I contacted Amazon and they re-ordered for me. I returned the first pack of 2. However, the second order also came in with only 2/6 filters that was in the description. I told Amazon I will keep them, I think it must have been a print error, but to please make sure they change the item description to a 2-pack. I believe they have done so after scanning through tonight; just ensure that duplicate filter packages are received as advertised, and match what the item description is. I just logged on to read the reviews, which I had not done before, and I see several comments about lower grade/quality filters being received which don’t match up to the advertised quality. The filters should definitely be solid fabric right through, not with any open holes. Since I didn’t open my filter package yet I will pull my filters from storage and see if they are the poor quality some reviewers have described, or if they are the higher quality I expected. I’ll report back after I check them. If they do not match my other blue 2200 filters I will definitely inform Amazon and be returning them because $43 is way too much to pay for two low grade filters. I have purchased locally the larger filter sizes in the blue 2200 that were very good quality. They are very different than the cheap filters you can buy locally for under $10 in a pinch. Amazon is pretty good about fixing anything that goes wrong and want to keep customers happy, so are quick to ensure we receive what we are paying for if something doesn’t match up properly.

I can’t speak for the apparent counterfeits that are going around but the filters I got were genuine. as for the product itself, they’re a legit MERV13 filter. I live in a top floor apt with about 1400sq ft and being humid and hot most days here the AC runs a good 16 hours a day during summer, on 90+ degree days there is a noticible lag to get the house down to desired temps in the low 70 degree range when compared to lower MERV rating filters that are generally recommended around the Merv 8 rating. that being said it may be a 7-8% flow through difference which when compared to the benefits of the huge amount of unwanted molecules being filtered out isn’t really a con IMO. I generally change about once every two months, so a two pack of these baby’s lasts from 4-5 months and at 100 a year for clean air I can’t complain. Great job 3M

if you are in the market for an air filter these are the ones to get. There are cheaper filters out there but you do get what you pay for in this case. Filtrete air filters are well made and are rated up to MERV13 which is as close to a true hepa filter as you can get for your furnace and air conditioner intakes.You will notice the difference in how clean the air is

I switched to the 3M filtration units after using a generic brand for the past two years. Having two small children, i am making small changes in my home to improve the air quality and just advocating a healthier lifestyle. They seem to be working well but i couldn’t tell you if it makes a world of a difference. However, my peace of mind is engaged after spending almost double the amount I was spending on filters previously.
