These air filters are very comparable to the higher-end, higher priced name brands. They have all the higher end features: very fine filter material to filter out very small particles, a metal mesh framework to keep the filter sturdy, and a cardboard grid on one side to lend support to the center of the filter under very high pressure (high airflow, or clogged filter) conditions.Note that these filters are MERV 11 (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value), which means they will filter out 50% of small 1-to-3 micron particles, and 85-90% of larger particles. MERV 11 will filter dust, lint, mold, pollen, pet dander, dust mites, smoke, and smog. The MERV rating lets you compare apples-to-apples when buying filters. To help the Amazon community make an informed decision, here is a little info about MERV ratings:MERV values range from 1 to 16, with the only thing better than MERV 16 being a HEPA filter. The low MERV filters have very large gaps in the filter material, and let lots of air and particles through. As you increase the MERV, you are making the filter holes smaller, so you filter out more particles, but you also start restricting the airflow. Too high of a MERV can actually damage your furnace by restricting airflow too much and stressing the compressor. MERV 11 is considered “superior” for residential furnaces, while MERV 13 is typically the highest MERV rating considered “safe” for residential furnaces. The American Society for Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioner Engineers (ASHRAE) recommends using MERV 6 or higher for residential furnaces. US Dept. of Energy recommends MERV 13. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) recommends MERV 8 or higher. But this part is IMPORTANT: MERV 11 will get clogged up with particles faster, so you need to change them more often (check them every month, definitely change them every 3 months). If they get too clogged up, they restrict too much airflow, and hurt your furnace by stressing the compressor and blower. Very cheap filters are typically MERV 2 or 3, and they don’t filter out as many particles, but they also don’t clog up very fast, and maintain high airflow for several months. But low MERV filters also don’t clean your air as well, and deposit a lot of dust in your vents. There’s no way around this trade-off, and you will need to decide which filter MERV value is right for you, your air quality, budget, and how often you want to change them. Obviously, if you are more sensitive to airborne pollutants (allergies, pollen, pet dander, etc.) you’ll probably want a higher MERV rating. I am super pleased with these filters, and I think they’re a fair value at this price (currently about $90 for 9 of them).Final Rating: 5 stars. Good MERV 11 filter for a fair price.

BNX 20x25x1 MERV 11 Air Filter 9 Pack – MADE IN USA – Electrostatic Pleated Air Conditioner HVAC AC Furnace Filters – Removes Dust, Mold, Pollen, Lint, Pet Dander, Smoke, SmogThe nine-pack of air filters arrive shrink-wrapped together in a large package wrapped together. There’s also a plastic wrap and label on each individual filter. The filters are very similar to other pleated filters that you’ve seen, but these are visually a bit different if you look carefully at them. On one side, the pleats are supplemented by a cardboard frame of support that crisscrosses the main opening. When installing the filters, do be careful to look at the flu direction, as flow is important with these filters. If you get the flow wrong, they might not filter properly. I’ve only been using these filters for a couple of weeks, but I can tell you that they are quite a step up from the standard filters that I have been using previously. They do have a superior filtering ability and do not seem to slow down air flow at all. (Keep in mind, that I am not a professional, and I do not have any devices to measure actual airflow, I’m just a central Florida guy and I’m going by the way the air conditioning feels)In our area, we have a lot of dust due to Clay roads and a lot of pet fur due to, well pets. This seems to do a very good job of collecting both. While I am not an excellent duster, this seems to do a good job of collecting a lot of the dust and pet hair that generally floats around. They are sized properly and fit the AC opening well. The extra crisscross of support seems to do a good job of adding extra infrastructure to the filter media.

I’ve lived at my house for over nine years and always want clean and fresh air. After a phenomenal experience with BNX filters, I decided to try the BNX 20x25x1 MERV 11 Air Filters since my furnace is a two-filter system. I was intrigued by their features and first impressions matter; the packaging of these air filters is always impressive. The nine-pack arrived shrink-wrapped in a large package, with each filter individually wrapped in plastic, which shows how this company takes a lot of care and initiative to protect its product. Upon inspection, I noticed that these filters were on par with higher-end, higher-priced name brands in terms of quality. The fine filter material effectively captures even the tiniest particles, ensuring cleaner air. The metal mesh framework provides sturdy support, and adding a cardboard grid on one side adds extra support under high-pressure conditions, such as high airflow or a clogged filter. One essential aspect of air filters is their Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) rating. MERV 11 filters effectively filter out 50% of small 1-to-3 micron particles and 85-90% of larger particles. With a MERV 11 rating, they effectively filter dust, lint, mold, pollen, pet dander, smoke, and smog. Choosing a MERV rating is essential based on your specific needs, air quality concerns, budget, and desired filter replacement frequency. These BNX air filters live up to their MERV 11 rating, effectively trapping dust, pet dander, and other airborne particles. After Living in a South Texas rural area with a lot of dust winds, pets, and other natural wildlife, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in air quality since using these filters. They have proven highly efficient in capturing dust and pet hair circling in the air. The filters fit perfectly in my HVAC system, and the added crisscross cardboard support enhances their overall performance. One aspect to consider with higher MERV filters like these is that they tend to get clogged more quickly, so I always keep a good stock of filters on hand. In terms of value, these filters offer excellent performance at a fair price. Priced around $90 for a nine-pack, they provide good value compared to higher-priced name brands. Considering their effectiveness in filtering out various pollutants, the price is justified. The filters are made in the USA, which is a quality that enhances their attractiveness.Overall, the BNX 20x25x1 MERV 11 Air Filters did not disappoint and exceeded my expectations. They provide exceptional performance, effectively filtering out particles while maintaining good airflow. The inclusion of a cardboard grid for added support is a thoughtful feature. If you’re looking for a reliable MERV 11 filter that balances performance and cost, these filters are a solid choice. Very Highly Recommended! A++

These fit perfectly, and make it easy to change out our air filters. We try to change a little more often here in the humidity, to the multi-pack helps a lot!
